Happy Friday!

Whew, what  a week! Is this what having a kid in elementary school is like? It’s been go, Go, GO this week! Ready for the weekend! Husband gets back in town today – he’s been traveling A LOT lately – so looking forward to a weekend at home. Here are a few things on my mind this week:

1. Needs and Gifts. A dear friend forwarded this article to me after carpooling to a meeting together and talking about why I started a little business (especially during the first week of school with Husband in a busy travel season). My fumbling, pieced together reason sounded a little like this. For some reason, digging around antique shops and thrift stores, finding vintage pieces and creating jewelry are things that just make me feel like ME. Being Mama is who I am – and I love it, and it is fulfilling in so many ways – but sometimes I just need something for me. And right now, this blog and this little shop fill that something. 2.This quote.

3. This book. I’ve been having some trouble sleeping this week, so instead of just tossing and turning and grumping (is that a word?) in bed, I get my book and read in hopes of falling asleep easier after finishing a chapter or two. It’s making me thing a lot about life and about story and how they are the same.

4. Jewelry. Of course I’m thinking about jewelry! All I want to do is make stuff! Here are some other pieces that are inspiring me this week:

5. The Color Thesaurus. This reminded me of this colorscope. And it’s just fun.

Do you have fun plans for the weekend? BB has his first soccer game, and I’m hoping to work on a few projects around the house, like a place to hang backpacks and jackets. And sewing! REALLY hoping to finish (um, start?) a sewing project this weekend. My machine is still wrapped in plastic from the repair shop. I KNOW! It’s been that kind of week.
