It’s Giveaway Day!

O Happy Day!

First of all, thank you so much for all the sweet comments and messages yesterday about my shop opening! Each one meant so much! I’ve been wanting to do this for a LONG time, and I decided to just set a date and go for it. I’m really looking forward to sharing some more of my work and running my own little shop. Exciting!

I’m also excited because, today, I’m starting a giveaway for not just one, but TWO (well, technically 3, if you count each earring) pieces of jewelry. These are little sneak peaks of similar pieces I’ll be selling in my Etsy shop that opens Tuesday, September 2nd.

First is my Fancy Red necklace. I found two vintage red necklaces that were almost identical within a week of each other in totally different places.

I used one necklace to make my Rouge is Fancy necklace (also seen here), and I used the second one to make this.

In addition to the vintage beads, I used 14K gold filled wire, clasp, and chain. I reused the vintage “gold” spacer beads from the original necklace for detail.

The necklace is approximately 18″ long and sits just below the collar bone.

I might like this one even better than my Rouge is Fancy necklace – but I won’t keep it, I promise.

The winner of this giveaway will also receive a pair of Gold Marquise earrings. These were inspired by my Go For the Gold Earrings that I made from a thrifted necklace. I wear the originals of these all the time, so I searched around until I found some new 14K gold filled marquise hoops to recreate them.

The hoops hang from 14K gold filled handmade ear wires.

These simple earrings pair well with a bold necklace – and pretty much anything else, really.

  1. If I could pick any color jewelry it would be gold. Then I could wear it with practically any outfit I have. :-)

  2. If you were to make a necklace for me, it would be royal blue.
I “liked” your page a long time ago and subscribed to your newsletter as soon as I saw the notice :-)
I would like to add that you should style outfits with your pieces and offer to sell the entire ensemble because I always like your pieces but I also want everything else you are wearing :-)
I shared on FB as well.
I am super excited about your shop!

  3. Hi Nicole, you are so inspiring, if I didn’t work full time, I’d want to do what you do – of course I couldn’t b/c I am just not that creative!! You have known me long enough, that if you were to make a necklace just for you, it would be red. :)

I have “Like”ed your Beautiful Objects Facebook page since it’s inception! And, really, I don’t just “Like”, it I LOVE it!

I subscribed to your newsletter yesterday, although maybe I did that before too…

I am heading over to FB now to share your page again, I have shared it before I am pretty sure b/c you are inspiring!

  4. Hi Nicole, I am going to repeat myself… :-)

  7. Nicole, so this is a new one… let’s just say your inspiration is needed at my humble abode…I’ll be finishing the carpet/floor removal this weekend and then the REAL fun begins…prepping the floor! I’ll be around all weekend – I’ll send you the 411 :-)

  9. I tried to edit my comment, but I can’t so I will just repeat myself. I like gold metal jewelry with stones or beads of any color except yellow.

  10. I love your blog and I subscribed to your newsletter! Also, if you were to make a necklace just for me, I’d probably go with bright blue or red but not together… But really I love pretty much everything you make!

  11. In honor of college football resuming this weekend, I’d love for you to make me an orange necklace (War Eagle!).

  12. 1. Leave a comment answering this question: If I were to make a necklace just for you, what color would it be?
    Royal Blue

  13. I shared your link on my wall so my friends can enjoy your work and I can stop trying to describe the things that you do in ways that do not do your talent any justice :) PS…how fun are all these comments?!! I am proud of you Nicole!
