Lovely Saturday! Husband and BB spent the morning at home while BG and I had a Girls’ Day Out. Ran some errands downtown, picked up coffee (and banana bread for BG), and hit the thrift store before getting groceries and heading home for lunch.
It’s Halloween season, and like I’ve said before, this is THE time of year to thrift, especially at Goodwill. I dug through 30 pairs of cowboy boots today, looking for some that fit me. (Usually, there might be one pair in the whole store. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any luck with the 30 pairs, but I’m not giving up.) And I did find some jewelry pieces.
This pendant was all alone in a little plastic bag, no jump rings or chain or anything. I thought it would be a good base for a bit of a jumble of different objects put together. I tried different combinations from my stash:
The giant faux pearl was my favorite. I added chain and embellished with a few little gold nuggets from a necklace that Adopted California Father gave me. This piece gave me lots of practice making loops.
I think I’ve hit my limit on jewelry projects for now. Even though it’s easy to keep up with my habit by doing something similar each day, it’s time to try something new. I’m off to dig through moving boxes in the garage to find my sewing machine.
