So, I think just “showing up” really made a difference.
All morning, I was so excited for nap time because I couldn’t wait to get back to work on my necklace from yesterday. We had a busy morning of dentist appointments and school drop-off and pick-up and errands. I had to squeeze in a trip to the bead store to pick up some sterling silver chain to finish the necklace.
(Had a little sticker shock when I saw the price, but then had a totally grown-up moment, talking about the price of gold and silver with the shop owner. Do you have those moments, too? When you do something and then think, “Yep, it’s official. I’m totally a grown-up now.” A friend of mine is going to come over soon to help me with drip irrigation in my yard. Total grown-up. Two nights ago, I went out for drinks with some friends from BB’s preschool to celebrate the success of the Rummage Sale. We all pull up in our minivans and other mom-type cars – not a sedan in the lot. Total grown up.)
I skipped the ritual today and got right to work. I quickly finished attaching my last round of beads to the drops and adding them to the newly-purchased chain. (You can see all my supplies spread out on my dining room table in the back. It may or may not still look like that at this very moment.)
I also worked on my new way of attaching a clasp.
I added little seed beads just like the ones I used at the bottom of the drops. I like the way it turned out.
I still haven’t gotten a new tripod, so I rigged up a chair and a box of unpacked books to try to get some photos. They are all crooked.
But that’s okay. I finished a project! And I’m really pleased with it.
So I think I’ll just “show up” again tomorrow. Stop on by to see what happens!

I think this is my fav. I want one! Way to show up
Thanks, friend! I really like it, too, but I wasn’t sure at first.
Love it! And yes have had those moments but still feel 18 somedays
It’s so true. I read something about how we are really all ages we’ve ever been at once – we are still the 12 year old, the 18 year old, the 25 year old, and who we are now.
That is beautiful! … I am not sure when you start feeling like a grown up … but I have decided that it is not 39 … oops … I just said my age!
Ha! I think it totally depends on the day as to how old I feel.
Love the necklace! And you are exactly right about the ages. Some days I am 16 and some days I am 40, which was one of my favorite years But so far, I have not felt 60 years old. God’s way of protecting my sanity!
Ha! Trying to remember the year you were 40 – I was in middle school?
