At the risk of sounding like a broken record, I had a red belt on my wish list.
I found this one at Goodwill a few weeks ago. It was on Columbus Day, and everything in the store was 50% off, unless it was marked “Halloween”. Maybe it’s supposed to be part of a devil costume? That metal tip is weird and reminds me of a tail. No matter – I was okay with paying “full price”. I think it was a kid’s belt. The belt holes’ placement is weird – a cluster making it really small, then a random hole close to the end.
I cut the silver part off.
Then I rounded the edges to make it look like a proper, not hell-bent, belt.
None of the belt holes fit me, so I got out my leather punch. (What, you don’t have a leather punch?)
It’s just like a hole punch, but it’s stronger and makes smaller holes. This was my dad’s, and it ended up in my tool box. I’m quite surprised how many times I’ve used it, actually. It works for all sorts of materials, not just leather.
I tried on the belt, marked the correct spot, punched the hole, and was done.
Stay tuned – I have another post coming up today with my last-minute Halloween costume. I think it’s pretty awesome, if I do say so myself.
